“Black Gold”, Jean-Jacques Annaud, 2011, Tunisia, France, Italy, Qatar. アラブの石油関係からくる膨大な投資、それに「薔薇の名前」などで有名な監督、という万全を期した製作であったようであるが。イスラムの砂漠地帯では、昔から豪族、部族関係が闊歩し、ときには争い、またときには和解していた。そこへ降って湧いたような石油の出現、さっそく米国勢力が押し寄せることになる。ときは部族社会から中央集権国家への移行期でもあり、米国勢は国家と結託して石油を独占しようとするが、大地のものは自分たちのものであるという権利を守ろうとする部族たちが抵抗する。そこに放擲された王子も加わり、戦いは熾烈さを増す。圧倒的なシーンが散見できるが、映画的には魅力にとぼしい出来になった。ストーリーが空回りしている感じ。

The islamic desert zone is the land of struggle and reconciliation of the arabian tribes. Just like an eternal present, the history would go on. However, with a discovery of the oil, everything have changed. The U.S. enterprise invaded these countries. The still undefined nation had to confront with tribes who wanted to keep their right of the land.
This is a production of a great money, so in some scenes it is overwhelming. But, that is all. In spite of the intelligence of the director, Jean-Jacques Annaud, this picture has few attraction.

Desde la antiguedad los tribus andaban en el desierto, y algunas veces se battallaban y otras veces se reconciliaban. Asi la historia ha pasado. Sin embargo, con el descubrimiento del petroleo las fuerzas estadunidenses invadieron, y queria aprovechar las naciones apenas emergentes. Los tribunes, inclusive el principe abandonado, resistieron contra el abuso de los poderes abriendo el fuego drastico. Con amontonada inversion, esta obra tiene aplastantes imagenes de vez cuando, pero como la obra cinematografica, encuentro poca atraccion, a pesar de la fama del director de “El nombre de la Rosa”.
