女の子の感性が敗戦を迎えたドイツにていかに捻じ曲げられるか、すべてを担い、どんな苦しみを背負って弟たちと森を越えて生き延びなくてはならなかったか、ただただスクリーンに釘付けにされてしまった。すぐれた映画作品しか見ないわたしであるが、これほど集中度が高く、しかも訴えてくる作品（主観的な表現になっているが）はあまりない。もちろん痛々しさも響いてくる。ことばを失う作品である。（絶賛してしまってちょっと恥ずかしい（笑））
ともかく、ナチズムの映画などはすくなからず生み出されてきたが、意外な眼のつけ所をこの作品は見せてくれる。

After the end of the World War II, how the children, as a son and daughters of the ex-German officer, had survived after the war taking a change, in spite of hardships? Of course, the children were innocent, but had to go away, including the life's risk apart from the hunger. More than a sentiment, there was a will to survive. Just like some Japanese had to go away at their own risks from Manchuria.
