二人の女の子はずっと仲良く育ち、その叙情的な映像の連続にはため息をつかされる。時代は戦後の、核戦争の恐怖が叫ばれていたころで、とくにジンジャーが平和運動にのめりこむ。この二人の女の子が強く結ばれていればいるほど、ふたりの家庭のちぐはぐさが目立ってくる。ロサとジンジャーの父親とが過度に親しくなり、しまいにはソープオペラのごとくの展開になり、すべてが崩壊への道を歩む。挫折のひとつの記録か。この女性監督はその野心ぶりが有名で、今回はごく当たり前にすぎたという声もあり。前半の映像の美しさに打たれたが、結果的に足りないところがありそうだ。

In the post-war epoch two girls lived very united lyrically and existentially, under the menace of the nuclear war, namely, in searching of the pacific movement. I loved this first half story. But gradually Rosa pretended to familiar with Ginger’s Dad. Of course he had more responsibility in this matter. So it finished something like a soap-opera.

Ginger and Rosa eran amigas inseparables, y visualmete abundantes escenas liricas.Son las parejas de la generacion pos-guerra, bajo la amenaza de la Guerra nuclear para acabar el mundo. Las dos, muy conscinetes de eso. Sin embargo, Rosa se sedució por el padre de Ginger. Es que habia problema en los hogares de los dos. Así se debilita el lazo inseparables de las dos. Desafortunadamente Rosa termina como el drama muy corriente, por supuesto que el padre tiene mucho más culpa. Es la historia de frustración.
