“Shame”, Steve McQueen,2011, U.K. 主人公のブランドンは性行為への偏執を持ち、そのようなことはドン・ファンとかカサノバとか古今東西、すこしも目新しいことではないように見えるが、この主人公の場合はただただ行為へとのめりこみ、相手の人格などは問われることがけっしてありえなかった。ただ欲望のみが先行したのである。それはあるいは米国の大都会での孤独のはけ口かもしれず、非人間性的な側面がありえたとしても、米国の大都市自体が非人間性にあふれているわけだから、まともに批難されることもなかった。しかしバーの歌手である妹の出現により、すべてはバランスを失っていく。妹は人生においての失敗をいくつもかかえ、そのコンプレックスに悩み、兄の存在にもいたたまれなくなって、さいごには自責の思いを遂げる。ここにきてはじめてブランドンは自分を顧みるということにたどり着く。しかしあまりにも遅すぎたのである。わたしはここのややモラル的側面が鼻についた。悪徳というのは、どこまでも推し進められてほしいもので、そんなに若くして悟りにはいってほしくない（笑）。

Sin embargo, distinto con Don Juan ni Casanova, este protagonista es resultado de la soledad urbana de la Norteamerca. Asi mantine su vicio, pero ahora que alla esta llena de vicios, no tan directamente se indaga a su inclinacion. No obstante, con la llegada de su hermana a su deparatmento quien ha sufrido por su complejo inferior, todo pierde su balance. Su hermana aun vive en el mundo del complejo, y muestra a su hermano su agonia interior. Brandon es ajeno con su posible contradiccion interior. Asi, cuando su hermana revelo su deuda, por primera ves Brandon se dio cuenta en donde estaba el mismo.
